Talent was born on a Saturay...

Sobieski is a quarterly arts and culture magazine, which promotes up-and-coming talent.

A printed, collectible publication, Sobieski showcases talented artists, documenting their struggles, their creative paths and most importantly, their reasons behind art-making.

Sobieski comes to life on the backdrop of a digitized world, where fine arts belong to nostalgia and values are constantly shifting. Based in London, but with an international scope, Sobieski acts like an embryo of talent, sourcing, protecting and nourishing new forms of creativity.

Through times of constant arts funding cuts, Sobieski proposes a platform where artists can exhibit their work and talk about its vital relevance.

Who is Sobieski?

The Polish & Czech surname of Sobieski was given to children who had been born, baptized or registered on a Saturday.

Derived from the Czech word for 'Saturday' ('Sobota'), Sobieski also means 'take for oneself appropriate glory'.

Maria Sobieski, great great grandmother & her sister, Margareta
